ORIGIN HUB
Yiwu or Shenzhen: which origin hub for China–Iran TIR trucking

On this page
The quote asks for an origin hub because the truck does not start at the factory gate. For most China–Iran TIR loads the choice is Yiwu (Suxi) or Shenzhen (Pinghu). Guangzhou, Shanghai, or a handover at the exit-gateway supervised zone are used when the cargo cannot reach those two yards in time. Freight is quoted on request. Delivery is hub-to-customs on CPT / DAP terms.
- Yiwu (Suxi) takes East-China cargo: Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai hinterland, Yiwu market goods
- Shenzhen (Pinghu) takes South-China cargo: Guangdong electronics, auto parts, machinery
- Both yards depart weekly on Tuesday and Friday
- The 21–23 day count to Tehran West Customs starts at Wuqia, not at the origin hub
- The domestic leg to Wuqia is typically within 7 days and is counted separately
What an origin hub is
It is a supervised yard where cargo is received, checked against the packing list, loaded, and sealed under TIR. The written quote is from that yard to the destination customs warehouse — Tehran West Customs, Aprin Dry Port, or Mashhad Customs — not to a street address in Iran. We do not collect from the factory unless the quotation says so.
Choose Yiwu (Suxi)
Use Yiwu when the cargo is already in Zhejiang, Jiangsu or the Yiwu market system, or when several suppliers will consolidate into one trailer. Small cartons, mixed SKUs and trading-company lots are normal here. If the factory is inland East China, trucking to Pinghu just to start the Iran trailer usually costs time and does not shorten the Wuqia clock.
Choose Shenzhen (Pinghu)
Use Pinghu when the cargo is in the Pearl River Delta: electronics, auto parts, inverters, or machinery that already sits in a Guangdong warehouse. South-China factories that insist on a Yiwu start add a domestic leg before the TIR trailer is even sealed. Class 9 lithium still needs a 16-section MSDS and UN packaging in the first message, whichever yard you name.
What does not change with the hub
The corridor after Wuqia is the same. A direct truck is currently 21–23 days to Tehran West Customs and 18–21 to Mashhad; a transshipment truck 26–30 and 24–28. The Kyrgyz 0.4% invoice tax exists only on the Wuqia / Irkeshtam line and is excluded from freight. The Khorgos line never adds it and has no published day count. Iran duty and clearance stay with the consignee’s licensed broker. The rate is still CPT / DAP to customs, not DDP.
How to name the hub on the quote
Send the factory city with the three items (destination customs, HS, kg, CBM). If you already know the yard, write Yiwu (Suxi) or Shenzhen (Pinghu). If you do not, the reply will name one. Guangzhou, Shanghai, or an exit-gateway handover is only offered when those two weekly yards cannot take the cargo before the next Tuesday or Friday.
FAQ
Which hub should I use if my factory is in Zhejiang or Jiangsu?
Yiwu (Suxi). Inland East-China cargo is usually cheaper and faster to that yard than to Pinghu.
Which hub should I use if the cargo is in Guangdong?
Shenzhen (Pinghu). South-China electronics, auto parts and machinery usually load there.
Do both hubs leave on the same days?
Yes. Weekly departures from Yiwu and Shenzhen (Pinghu) are Tuesday and Friday.
Does the origin hub change the 21–23 day count?
No. That count starts at the Wuqia crossing. The domestic leg to Wuqia is typically within 7 days and is counted separately.
